Here in Washington State, they had a bill up that would give motorcycliests the right to pass through a red light (left turn) if it refused to turn green after 1 complete cycle. When they were voting on the stuff that was all in the same bill package, they decided to line veto that part.

According to this site, we passed that in Washington State... So this is wrong? It was other states as well and is a good link, though maybe thier info might be dated?

This is a good law. If you have ever sat through a set of lights 2 or 3 cycles.........well it's very frustrating! Trying to bounce on the sensor, man what a pain!
"Bump- Try putting your kickstand down- it always works for me." I never tried that. Sounds interesting. I have also heard to get to the edge of the plate.
So maybe the kickstand idea works because is detects metal... I ran into this product during a search. It really might be worth it for me as it looks like it's against the law her, and this is a heavy traffic area. Just nobody is making a left except me!!!
Forthe town I work in (Mckinney) I keep the streets dept number handy and call them when I find a light that wont trigger. They always come out and adjust it as soon as possible. Here we can pass thru using caution if it wont trigger. We also have a great Motor Division on the PD and I'm sure they let "Streets" know of the bad intersections. If your frustrated, make a call and get it fixed.
From the law enforcement side it is a moving violation to run a red light however if the light is not functioning properly i.e. and assuming your bike is licensed and insured (street legal) then you would treat it as if it were a 4 way stop proceeding through interception, keeping in mind that once you are clear the interception you are still in violation of the traffic laws (for insurance purposes) If you get struck and you are injured your ins may not HAVE TO PAY
