Anyone know if an 08 low rider front oem cast wheel will fit a 06 street bob? Just wondering if the rotor will work as they mount completely different. I think they both use 1 inch axles.
The rotors from the cast wheels are completely different fron the laced wheels. You wheel need cast wheel and rotor from an 06 or 07, both of which have 1" bearings.
The 08 wheels I were looking at come with the break rotors and bearings. I knew some 08 models came with 25mm bearings, but didn't know if the Lowrider did or not. Guess I could call aHarley partsdepartment, but was hoping to find out on this forum (never had much luck with dealerships, always end up pissed off).
Guess what I need to know is if there is any way I can use 08 Lowrider cast wheels on my 06 Street Bob by either changing out the bearings or going to a different axle. I did check with a local dealer (parts guy) and he shows both bikes using the same bearing in his parts breakdown, what gives? Do all 25mm bearings use hollow axles?
hollow with better material are stronger than a solid axle. I kept on shearing the solid axles off of the rear @ take off. Went to 1" hollow chrome molly & heat treated. You should be able to use a cast wheel on your bike. Check the front forks for part # & if they are different, investigate further. If they are the same you are golden. In another few weeks I get the CD on parts so I can check then.
So what your saying is that if I traded a guy my laced wheels for his cast (same year bike) the cast wheel rotors won't fit my street bob?
