The check engine light came on along with the battery symbol and the tach and the speedo went dead. Engine ran fine. 6th speed indicator also would not illuminate. The LED clock and odometer were on, but the mileage was not incrementing. I've got the bike in the parking lot at work right now. Any ideas? '07 Low Rider w/T-Max
Sorry, wish I could help you other than that. My first call would be to the dealer although a lot of times they aren't much help either! Maybe just a short in the wiring to your panel?
I had a similar problem with my WG, turned out to be a short in the switches in the front brake housing. Didn't damage anything, but had no instrument function. Worth a look, hopefully that is all it is.
Sounds as if the bike is running completely off the regulator. I could be wrong, but I thought most of the indicators, accessories and gauges ran off the battery.
Check your battery voltage disconnected from the bike. If it's lower than 12 volts just sitting, re-charge it or get a new one.
But first make sure the connections are tight on the battery terminals.
Went out to the parking lunch at lunch and started the bike and everything works OK. Huh.I also spoke to Zippers and they have seen this a few times before and described it as a 'one time' thing. I will check all the battery connections and fork wire bundles when I get home. Thanks for the advice.
