I've been looking for replacement mufflers for my 06 Low Rider and I'm getting confused and frustrated. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot to choose from for the 06 models. Can anyone explain why? Also I am more than willing to listen to suggestions as to replacements. Looked at Screamin Eagle mufflers but no listing for my yearmachine (!!&%$*). Have been thinking about V&H slipons with the quiet baffles but I read they are still pretty loud. Has anyone had experience with the Samson slip-ons? I am looking for something with bettersound just not too loud though. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I have an 06 FXDCI with 2.25 Rush Slip-ons. Sound is great, but still may be too loud for you. Check out this site: http://www.epiflex.com/. There is different size baffles and you can listen to them.

Thaks for the input. I was interested in hearing from someone who had actually tried the HD mufflers because I was worried that they would pretty much sound like the OEM ones.$300 is a lot of money to drop for no improvement in sound. And the Rush mufflersare interesting since you can "tune" them to your liking. Now it's just a matter of deciding...[sm=confused06.gif]
I've got the VH slipons and don't think they are too loud. I crank it up in the alley at 10:15 pm going to work and no complaints from the neighbors, yet anyway. Had them on for over a year now. I do like to keep the neighbors happy, nice people.

You live less than 5 miles from me - I live off Rt 6 by Stafford Ave.
I'm leaving for Vermont early tomorrrow, and if you'd like we can hook up for a coffee when I get back next week and you can take a listen to my V&H Straightshot Slipons with Quiet Baffles.

45,
For about $400 you can get a full Samson exhuast for you Low Rider. That's what I did. Got tired of having to mess around with the muffler clamps; they became a pain in the Rumplestilkskin. Take a look at what I put on my Low Rider. A full exhaust system is not much more than set of mufflers and is much better in the long run than a set of replacement mufflers IMHO.
