I posted this in the Touring Model section but it will probably get a better response from this crowd (Touring models already come with windshields) <duh>
I have a Memphis shade on my Dyna. No lowers of coarse. The way you explain it sounds as though it would work. As for the bufferting, I have always used inner ear isolation earphones with an Ipod. Illegal in some states; if they can see it that is.. It makes riding more enjoyable for longer distances with less fatigue. Once you have ridden with this set-up, it is hard to ride without them. Just have to be more observant with traffic.

lesrrt - Is there a chance I could get you to measure the distance between the windshield mount holes (center to center). If I can get someone to tell me the distance between the mounting holes on the lowers I'll have everything I need.
the holes are 1 5/8" apart on the lowers, and 3 1/2" apart on the sheild.
(I have both mounted on a Dyna -- the lowers help with buffeting)
Thanks for taking the time to measure them for me. Look's like my plan won't work. <crap>
I guess I could always cut my own lowers plastic and use the mounts like I had intended. I was hoping to have them on by the end of the week - I'm riding around B.C. for 10 days and they would have been nice if they worked.
