I got a question about the wiring so I am posting the response here in case there are future questions.

The wiring was pretty straight forward. Both the OEM neck mounted switch and the new universal side flip side switch have three terminals. The original flat. three wire connector works on both. The connector had retaining clips on each side which I had to remove for use on the new switch because of the way I mounted it in the old fuel gauge mounting bracket. The pic below labels the switch terminals in the same order as the factory wiring diagram. I have included the wire colors which go to each terminal. The factory harness was too short to reach the new tank mounted switch. I spliced in wiring extensions to get the length. All splice points were soldered and covered with heat shrink. I covered the wiring in the OEM nylon mess sheathing for protection and appearance.

Were you able to get the new switch keyed to your original key, or do you have one key for igniton and one for fork lock?

Right now I have two keys. The OEM key fits the fork lock, the other key fits the ignition switch. I have read posts where guys have done this mod on Street Bobsand had the cylinders keyed alike by a locksmith. If I remember correctly, it cost them about $40.00. If the two keys become an inconvenience, I will look into this.

It's about time John...
Looks great. I like the way you mounted it with pinch bolts as opposed to a more conventional way.
The last thing holding me from the mod is making the bracket to hold the fuel gauge. Sorry, but I spoiled myself and I cant live without it.

If you feel up to it, the switches come apart fairly easily. If you know anything about Ace locks, you can re-key it yourself and save a few bucks. Downside is if you mess up, your'e buying a new switch.

I wouldn't mind breaking into it to do it, but know nothing about locks. I'd have no problem with experimenting though.
