06 FXDI Ignition Switch Relocation w/Pics
Back in February,I posted some info about my desire to mount an FX/FL side flip ignition switch on my 06 FXDI. The original switch was located in the neck, combined with the fork lock. After my new switch spent three months laying on the workbench, I finally decided to install it.
My idea was to put the new switch on the console where the fuel gauge orginally was. A drawback to doing this was I would only have my trip odometer to rely on for an estimate of fuel supply. Because I changed speedos, I no longer had a low fuel light.
Anyway,I said hell with it and installed the new switch. Thought I'd post some pics and details of the finished project. I used the mounting bracket from the fuel gauge to mount to new switch to the console. I also purchased a new trim ring for the lock cylinder in the neck which identified just the lock and unlock positions for the fork lock. The ignition and accessory positions are not labeled on the new trim ring. The trim ring is from a Wide Gllide.
I am getting ready to order a chrome gas cap and trim ring to finish off the console.
Here are some pics, and as always, feedback is welcome.

John- I just changed the dash on my Street Bob and didn't know what to do about the decal for the fork lock. You have answered that for me, THANKS ! Do you happen to remember the part number for the WG decal ? BTW you bike looks great with the painted dash. Whoever did the work did a fantastic job.

John- Just realized the decal for the wide glide is in my parts book. I will look it up. Anyway your ride is sweet and is personalized very nicely.
