ORIGINAL: blacked out

Well I'm looking at putting on my pipes and intake on my day off and

was wondering do I need to get new exhaust gaskets ?

And if so which ones ?

2008 Street Bob

Gordo

Gordo, The Screaming Eagle gasket is crap compared to the stock seal.

Get this part# - 65324-83A (stock seal)

You will probably also want to pick up #65325-83A (retaining ring)

2 of each.

I say absolutely change them. Cheap. and, correct.

Make sure to get all of the old one out,
and carefully install the new.
They are easy to screw up.
I always buy two sets at a time.

Shown below is a good tool for digging out the worn out crushed seal.

Also note the difference between the beefy tapered stock item,
as opposed to the Screaming Eagle tiny so called seal.

change the gaskets every time you change exhaust.
everytime the pipe comes off my bike for one reason or another, it gets new gaskets.
too cheap to pass up

they are the steel clipps that fit between the exhaust flange and the round end of the pipe. they are what alows the pipe to be botlted to the head.
sometimes they can get bent so it s not a bad idea to change em
