Here is what worked for me. I had a spirit bell hanging from the lower tree of my Roadking and a big bump caused the wheel/fender to travel up and BANG! The bell put a baseball size dent in the top of the fender.
I got a Pops-a-Dent from the local Autozone and worked around the dent with it as the instructions described and eventually the dent was almost invisible! Give it a shot, I bet you have good luck with it IF you take your time and do just as the instructions describe.

First, glad to hear you both are relatively OK.
Secondly, check out the recommended dent repair methods described above.
Thirdly, I like the idea of putting the old womans pic on the dent
Has the interior tank sealant been compromised/cracked?
