Hi guys, my current bars are Burly 36" wide x 2" rise x 10" center x 8" pullback, 1 1/4" diameter with internal wiring.Pretty much like them but have been getting some shoulder pain and a little stiff neck. I realise some of this (the shoulder)could befrom an accident some 30 years ago but i did,nt have it on my previous bike a BMW R1150R.
I,m not a fan of the apes hence the change from stock but feel i need to try something. I want to stay with the 1 1/4" diameter as i like the looks and easy internal wiring.
I fancy something like the Burly Knuckle bars 33 1/2"w x 5"rise x 12 1/2" pullback, or Chubby FLSTC/FLSTF bars 34 1/2"w x 4 1/2" rise x 12 1/2" pullback. My thoughts being slightly narrower and about 4" closer so that my back is straight,( i,m 5-10")my concern is the bars look to put your wrists at a more "wheel barrow" angle, and being internally wired i want to hopefully get it right before i leap.
Sorry its a long post, any advice would be most welcome.
Can you go to the dealers, any dealers, and try different bikes out with different bars? I'd go out 'as if' I was shopping and try a bunch of different handlebar set ups, don't have to be harleys, to get an idea of what's comfortable,my 2 cents.
