Muted Alarm
Hi all,
Set my alarm to maintenance mode the other night while washing the dead flies of the bike, and when i went to start today the alarm still comes on but is barely audible, also the "whirr" during 4 second engine diagnostics check has increased noticeably.
Any ideas?

HoolyNI...the same thing happens to mine. I take the seat off and wash he bike,put all back together and I get this sissy muted siren that wouldn,t scare a mouse! The alarm still does it's job,the ignition is cutt and the lights flash. The stealership nearby said "ya it's muffled but we consider it to be functional and therefore normal" I said WTF? even after riding 200 miles it's still muffled,my siren musthave been placed in some wind-free nook,so here is what I do. Unlock the ignition switch,place the key fob20 feet away and let the alarm go until the vibration literally kicks the water out. It works,i've had to do this twice now. If it doesn't clear after 30 seconds switch your ign.off and try again,within 1 minute of this your siren will be happily peircing your eardrums again! And not 1 of my neighbors evenn turned their heads! lol
