I have my stock buckhorn bars, mirrors, and black rubber (chrome ends) grips if you need them. The bars are straight, but have normal use sratches. The mirrors and grips are in good shape. You cover the shipping and you can have them.
Glad to hear you are OK, the bike can be fixed. You have my word come October I will do mypart to keep as many of them SOBs off the Highways. They are of much better use on the Dining table. Ride Safe.
+ 2 my wife and i will both try to thin the herd and increase bikers chances at the same time.
Man you are lucky you didn't get hurt....good job riding that speed down! Call your insurance agent and see who their motorcycle salvage company is and you may be able to get some cheap parts there.
My buddy was cruising down 138 and a coyote came running from the right and ran right into the right side of his bike causing $2500.00 in damage and yanked him clean off. Then the stealer calls him to tell him his bike is ready, so he goes to pick it up and when he gets there they tell him there is a problem. Yeah, we dropped your bike off the lift it'll be another week. My last one was totalled beyond repair.
thank you all for your offers of parts. they are much appreciated. the deer up here seem to be quite active during the day, more than i can ever remember...that or im just seeing it more because im traveling roads ive never been on before. either way, im pretty sure the engine guard saved the bike, and my right foot when i went down. i guess the looks of it were a smaller sacrifice than i thought in comparison. the original post has been edited to add the speedometer. thanks again for all your support everyone!
Deer are varmints! After I just got my 06 FXD, a large Buck ran in front of me and I locked up the front and rear brakes to avoid it. It was the middle of the day and I watched the SOB wait for all the cars to pass THEN he decides to run in front of me. Lucky I was only going about 35 MPH. I read recently there are more deer in the USA now than when the white man started populating this land. I live where I regulary see 12 of the varmints in my yard at one time.
After I bought my new car I almost hit one (thank god for antilock brakes!).
Dang... glad you're ok... that's a shame about your bike, especially this time of year too.
Almost caught a young one myselfyesterday, but I saw it in plenty of time. Little sucker just stood there in the road looking at me as I'm coasting up. I beeped the horn... still stood there staring. Then I rapped the pipes a couple good times and then he scampered off. That got his attention.
