I did this to my stock sporty slip-ons and I wish I wouldn't have, sounded like poop!!! Don't do it!!!! I then tried it without the slip-ons at all (shorty's), OMG sounded like a lawn mower with no pipes at all.... SUCKED bad!!! Don't do it!!!! I ended up getting a set of VH slip-ons and loved them! But as of now I traded the sport for a dyna fxdci, much better! So my 2 cents is Wait for your pipes!!!!

I punched them on my 04 sporty and it sounds really good but u gotta watch on the injected bikes unless u remap first. A friend did it and had to buy pipes or remap and couldnt ride till he did one or the other

I've read most of the post for and against ,so what you should do is go to the stealers and ask to see a SE slimp-on and look in side the muffler. If you don't see anything in the inside it would be the same as drilling the baffle. If there is something inside it might be a pipe cut and bent in to make a baffle. I have a set from a freind and that what is in the inside.

Thanks for all of the info... I guess I will just wait for my pipes and keep sounding like a dang on sewing machine...[8D]... Even if it is ok I dont want to chance messing anything up....

I got some used drilled pipes from EBAY cheap ($40). They sound good and don't pop or backfire. I believe they were the "Max Performance" style, but I got them second hand. I figured If I don't like them, I can throw them in the garbage. Drill it for a short term solution.
