Hickey I had the same dilema. I didnt want to mess with the axle nut so I just installed mine on one belt guard nut. Much easier install. Just a fender washer and I was done.
I still havent recieved the plate from ebay, however I was cleanin the bike yesterday and decided to try and take of the axle nut. I used an 8inch adjustable wrench, and man it took some serious pull to get it off, that thing was tight. I put it back on as tight as I could get it.

I was debating putting it on the belt cover, but after hearing from a few in this thread, I think I'll avoid doing it. However, some of you mentioned thats where you have it mounted\\; no problems with vibration?
 \\;
Im \\;very excited to take the plate off the fender
Hey Hickey,
I just posted about the wiring for my side mount and saw your post pop up just above mine.
 \\;
Anyways, I just got my plate frame light in and think im gonna mount it today. I'm gonna mount it on the belt guard. Otherwise I'll have to drill out the hole. If i notice that it vibrates out of place then i will go with the axle mount.

 \\;
Anyways just thought I'd throw out my $0.02.

Awesome! let me know how it goes! mine came with a 3/4 or 1 inch hole already tapped, so I think I may just have to go with the axle nut.
really weird, none of the pics seem to be working for me, or is it everyone else too? blah who knows!
 \\;
well, I got the plate in today, decided to go with the axle mount, however, the hole was too small (not what the maker explained) soooo I decided to go with the drive cover. Worked out awesome, its very very tight, and looks really great.
 \\;
Thanks for all the advice and help y'all.

Now the only problem is, finding caps to cover the 3 holes. I checked Home-depot, Lowes, and Rona, Nothing! my dealer didnt have any either, perhaps he didnt know what I was talking about. Anyone have any part numbers?
