I ran a Metz 160 bias on my 06 Dyna. Better in rain, better on the grooves, lasted the same as the OEM Dunlop.
You may want to consider the Screamin Eagle 170 radial. It is tested for the Dynas, and I have heard good things about it.

I run the SE 180 and really like it.

Ditto on the Metz being grippier and little less durable.&nbsp\\;Just wish they made WWalls for the stock dyna 17.&nbsp\\; I recently saw a writeup in some mag that was raving about the new Pirelli tires.&nbsp\\; I think they are called Knight Dragon or something like that.&nbsp\\; Supposed to be nice?

I got 6,000 miles on the OEM dunlop. 6,500 miles on the 180/60 SE dunlop, and I got 9,000 miles on the 170/60R metzler. Just put another metzler on. best ride and value.

Ok,&nbsp\\; I think I'll try one, I just wanted some feedback on the Wide glide handling, I figured somebody had tried one....the guy was just trying to talk me out of it for safety reasons because they hadn't been tested....I think I'll try to get one before they go up.....batteries have already done that.......

I have been running the Metz ME 880 170/60/17 rear tire now for about 6000 miles. I haven't noticed any significant wear over my previous rear tire at similar milage, plus the Metz seems to be much more aggressive in the corners. It holds extremely well, some may say it responds too quick, but most of those people were previously running the Dunlop tires and there is a noticeable difference in how well the bike can handle with a set of Metz tires installed.
&nbsp\\;
I recently had my front swapped over to the Metz ME 880 as well, now have about 1500 miles on it, minimal wear obviously, but I do notice I am getting wear alot farther across the front tire then I had on my Dunlop. Its amazing how much a good set of tires with boost a rider's confidence in the corners...I am no longer a die-hard Dunlop guy after running a set of the Metzlers

I have the same bike as 2002fxdp in the 2004 model. Switched to the ME 8800 last year and I love 'em. Great handling, good grip and, so far, decent wear.

You mean a bigger patch or section of the front tire is wearing?? that's either the design or a difference in air pressures??

Yea a bigger section is getting more wear now. It is deffinitely due to the tread design and composition IMO, I have played with my tire air pressure a lot over the past year on my Dunlops to get the best traction in the canyons but no matter what they never seemed to stack up to the Metzlers

Ok.....I got a rear ordered through my local shop for 145 because they will match prices if you can print it out for them.....I would rather do business there anyway, the tax will offset the shipping....
&nbsp\\;
The radial is about a half inch wider and a half inch shorter.......if I remember right, the speedometer reads faster than you are really going with shorter tires..I think mine reads about 3 mph slower than correct right now so I might end up going 5 mph or so slower than what it's reading.....I guess that will help with the speed limits??
