badlander seat on street bob

Has anyone installed a 2-up seat on an 08 dyna without using the ridiculous rubber bumber kit from HD? I'd like switch back and forth to a solo seat without having 4 rubber squares glued to the fender. Not sure how to protect the flat paint without them.

I stuck them to the seat. Works well for me.

Don't the rubber pads scuff or scratch the paint? The seat fitment isn't great, it seems loose, don't ever remember having this issue on a softail or sporty with aftermarket seats.&nbsp\\;

I don't have a Badlander, but I use a fender bib under the pillion.

I put a folded cotton hand towel under the seat when I install my 2-up. 4K miles so far and no scratches.

put the pads on the seat... done and done or get felt pads like you put on the bottom of chairs on hardwood floors... that is what i got for my seat when i put on the passanger seat
