Hello just been out for a run on the bike.Got pulled by the police. He also pulled a van and a car.He gave the van driver
a bollocking for pulling out on me while i was overtaking him.
He then came over to me.And told told me he had clocked me at doing an average speed of 79MPH in a 60.He then said it's a nice bike and a nice day to be out.But my visor was illegal (BLACK)
And that the young lad in the car was trying to race me.He let me go without even a telling off and told me he had bollocked the van drive. And was going to book the young lad in the car.
Was it my lucky day or just a good cop with a bit of sense.Who could see i was not riding in a dangerous manner just going a bit fast.
Anyone else met a cop like this. The type we need more of.
PS this was in the UK
When I did the Bike Safe course at the Ace Cafe run by the Met. Bike Cops they said a large majority of cage cops are ex bike cops so have more sympathy for bikers. \\; They said it was rare they would do anyone for loud pies or black visors unless they were on crutch rockets with iridium visors and race cans. \\; You were lucky in my opinion \\;about the speeding though - probably didn't have the evidence he needed to do you. \\; I find most cops are resonable (or at least that's been my experience) if you are pleasant and polite.
Anything more that a 50% tint is illegal here in the day time, and you have to use a clear visor at night. \\; The daft thing is you can wear any type of shades you want up to an 80% tint. \\; I wear a 90% tint visor during the day and carry a clear one.
A lot of LEOS don't bother f%^in with guys just going a little fast it is the showing off and weaving in and out of traffic. 79 is more than a little fast so.......my vote is LUCKY!!!!!!!
A 'bollocking' is a telling off, often by one's boss for an inadequate or incomplete piece of work, or inappropriate behaviour.
(As defined by the Urban Dictionary)
"We had all the work done by two, so we all pissed off down the pub, but come Monday morning, we all got such a bollocking. Marketing had called eight times and that **** over there had forgotten to turn the answering machine on. ******."
