Hey guys, Im installing forward controls on my 06 SG, Kit part # 49080-06A. The instruction are telling me to remove the Primary cover, and the primary chaincase houseing so that I can remove the original shifter spline and the origina lever. This seems kinda unnessecary to me \\; I think that Ive seen in the forum where other people have just used the new shifter roda nd left all of the orignal hardware on the bike saveing the chore of removing he primary and they had a little chrome cover that went over the original spline. Any shared knowlege would be appreciated

WS6 Formula, the person who posted the info in the link I provided, has written several posts. \\; If you have not already found them, he offers info in some of them about making the earlier model kits work on the new Dynas. \\; The older kits have a bracket which can be used to tie down the shift arm from the tranny. \\; The old kit also has a cap to slide over the protruding shifter shaft. \\; If you already have the 49080-06 kit, you may be stuck using a saw blade to cut the shift shaft for removal.
