Questions
Can someone tell me when they stoped making the dyna convertable? Also whats the difirence between the superglide, the superglide custom and i beleave there is another. Pics would be nice. Thanks.
I don't know about the Dyna convertible, but I have a 2006 Super Glide Custom. The difference between the SG and the SGC as I understand it is mainly chrome accesories, particularly on the engine. For example, a chrome primary cover vs. a powder coated primary cover. The basic SG is just that, basic. It allows you to customize it to your tastes and wallet. Just go to the main HD web site and look at the models. You'll see the differences right away.
Not sure about the convertable.

The super glide custom (on newer models) has a tank mounted Speedo vs the handle bar mounted one of a SG. The custom also has the chrome package on the motor and has a different seat. It also has spoked wheels.

There may be more but thats most of it. The Custom is diffently worth the extra 1k of MSRP if you can find one for that price. All I found were loaded with stuff and ran 3 to 5k higher than the SG.

I had a Sportster too,with the clearcoated aluminum, \\;and totally agree that if you can afford it, the chrome would be a much better investment than the coated aluminum. Much easier to take care of and after a few years will almost always look better..

I have a 2000 Dyna Glide - Conv (FXDX). It is basically a Dyna Lowrider with removable bags and windshield. I think (will check) the last run of these was 1998-2000. There were a few earlier runs of them and I remember seeing a list here on HDF somewhere but will have to go find it.

I believe Caddilac is correct 2000 last time. \\;FXD and FXDC differance is fat bob tank, \\;spoke wheels, \\;2 up seat and pegs, chrome on motor and primary. Same wheel base, same motor, same frame. I bought \\;FXDC primarally for the tank 5 gal cap. \\; \\;
