different color plugs
I took the plugs out of my bike the other day to have a look what was what mixture wise, one was pretty well ok if slightly sooty round the base of the plug body but the porcalain is OK, and the other was very black and sooty all over.
The reason I was checking the plugs was that recently the tickover has not been good, it seems to run a little higher when warmed up, apart from that and popping on throttle off theres nowt wrong.
The bike starts quick and runs A-OK, and the fuel consumption is not bad I think at around 45mpg. There has never been even the slightest whiff of smoke seen from the bike, so I'd be surprised if it's burning oil. I would have to check oil consumption to make sure, though it uses very little indeed. The Bike has only covered 16000, fully serviced from day 1 by Harley till I got it a year ago then by meself.
Is it common for these 88's to have such a difference in plug colour? I would have thought with a single carb it would be the case both cylinders got the same mixture, it's the back pot thats rich by the way.
