I'm in the market for a new Fat Bob. I'm ready to pull the trigger but I'm wondering if I should wait until after the Dealer Show in Vegas. I realize that they most likely won't change anything on the Fat Bob but my question is should I wait until they start shipping the 2009s? I hate to purchase a 2008 and then in 3-4 weeks they have 2009s in the showroom. I mean next year my 2009 would still be current but the 2008 would be a year old. Does anyone know how long it takes to see the new models in stock after the Dealer show? If it's not until September then I've wasted a good part of the riding season, if it's just 3-4 weeks away I can wait. Thank!
Im waiting for the same thing,just dont know which bike. I spoke with the dealer last week. He said they would trickle in by mid Aug. He said they will know everything right after Vegas and Harley schould update the website mid July.
I almost bought a 2006 when the 2007's information was released in mid July. Could have saved $3000 but, I went with a custom colored 2007. You will know what to do in a couple of weeks. \\;
bikes roll in to different areas at different times,so there's ne real answer for when. I'm thinking "if you have something else to ride in the meantime and you are a really patient person hell wait!" I'm not sure your local dealer even has one they are moving quite fast! But like someone else said, you can save some $$ if you take an '08 \\; late season. And if HD makes any improvements motor-wise or suspension,paint whatever they usually upgrade all the bikes so who knows for '09s
The shipments of Fat Bobs don't go out tile the end of August. Anyone who has put their names on the waiting list and left the $500 redundable deposit with HD can expect their bikes from September 1st depending on how far away you are from Milwaukee.
From what I know in the 1st phase they are sending out only 250 bikes throughout the country. The 2nd phase is in December/January.
Personally I think next year is going to be the last year HArley is going to come out with the Fat Bob just like they did a long time ago.
Their just trying to draw in a younger crowd of riders since the older ones are either dead or in walkers.
So you might wanna get your names on the list. Your Fat Bob will hold its value for a long long time.
The only thing that is on back order are the SE Heavy Breathers because everyone wants them.

Well, I have to disagree with your timetable a little.
I purchased a brand new 2009 Fat Bob off the showroom floor on August 8th.
