I hate to even ask...
But the wind blew the crap out of me today.
Cool looks is cool looks, ok and all that.
Never had a screen/shield myself on any bike.
Seems like maybe even bashed some on this site about lookin like a car/goldwing?
But after today, thinking maybe something removeable?
Harley, Memphis Shades?
Any have pics of StreetBob with shield?
Thanks in advance.
And if I didn't wave today, cause I was holding on to the bars...
I have an 07 Street Bob with a Memphis Shades Memphis Slim removable windshield. I think the semi aps force a more upright riding position that just makes the wind harder to deal with......or maybe I am just a wimp. The windshield was easy to install. Unlike the Harley windshield, when removed it does leave some hardware on the forks. If you are concerned about how the forks might look with the windshield off you might want to go with the Harley model. I end up leaving the shield on 80% of the time so I really do not care.
Sorry, but the only pic I have is one from a trip I took recently so the saddle bags and sissy bar t bag are on the bike. Not the best view of the windshield \\; but it is the best I have right now. Maybe someone else will post a better one. Yeah, the pink jacket is mine..........
i have the HD removeable, it looks decent on the bike. i haven't used it myself, but if i go on any long rides i'll definitely put it on. sorry no pic.
Have a new \\;HD quick detach(07 bob)...careful for what you wish for! with it attached...instead of the wind on your chest, it hits you right in the head! and rattles the brain! \\; If I would have known that, I would have saved the 500 bucks and bought a better full faced helmet! hahaha

I do not notice any wind coming over or around the windshield and hitting my head, but I do notice some air coming up underneath of it and causing my glasses to bounce around a bit. People complain about it a lot, but it does not bother me that much at all. \\;
Overhead for me it is unforgiving... I will keep adjusting the shield up and down looking for the sweet spot and hope I develope a taste for it! (it is my first street bike so it might take sme getting used to)

I know what you are talking about. It is not bad for me until I get up to about 75 or 80, though sometimes if I am riding into a head wind it starts getting nasty a little sooner. The toolbag I have hanging on my forks might help, but I have not taken it off to see if it gets worse. There have been many threads on this forum about it. I did notice if I put my feet out on the highway pegs (I have mid controls) it seems to get worse. If I put my arm across my chest it stops the wind so I know it is coming up from the bottom and not over or around the shield. \\;
Some people talk about it being so bad it bounces their heads around. For me it is only strong enough to bounce my glasses around a little bit. If I put my full face helmet on (I only wear it in the winter when it is real cold) I do not notice it at all while some others have reported in a bigger helmet it feels like their heads are going to be ripped off. Maybe I am just the right height.
I have the HD quick detach on my 07 Street Bob. The wind buffeting can sometimes be a little much but I am very happy with mine. I have only ridden once with out it on and I like the ride better with it on.
