I use the change intervals recommended in the owners manual.
One reason is that changing the oil too often can actually increase wear. Why? New oil has detergent additives which break down over time, so the oil is formulated with higher than optimal levels when the oil is new, so that they will last for the duration of the expected oil change interval. At the high levels when new, these additives interfere with the effectiveness of some of the anti-wear additives, resulting in increased wear.
I realize that this will sound absurd to some people, but it's what has been learned from actual testing, and published in technical papers from the Society of Automotive Engineers.
I normally change my engine, transmission, and primary all at the same time the 5,000 mile mark. I also run mobile 1 full synthetic, along with Harley Sports Trans

I do engine oil and filter every 5000km
Plugs and air filter clean every 10,000km even (i.e. 20, 30,40)
Tranny & Primary every 10,000km odd numbers (i.e. 25, 35,45)
Engine and primary, 2.5k to 3k maximum; Valvoline VR1 SAE 50 in the engine, Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 synthetic in the primary. Transmission at every other engine/primary change; Mobil 1 75W-140 synthetic or Redline V-Twin w/shockproof.
Oh yea, I'm in the back pocket of Big Oil, but never needing to buy oil filters? Priceless...
I change all my oil at around 3000 miles I use HD syn. \\; When oil comes out it still looks and feels new . Am I changing it to often? \\; How many miles do you guys get on a oil change?
I do the exact same thing using RedLine. Motorcycle oil goes in (clean), comes out (clean) then some goes into the lawnmower for a little extra service, as needed.

Cars and trucks have big radiators which regulate temps. My ride, at least, doesn't, and generally operates at temps around 10% higher than the 212 degrees automotive oils were designed for. Frequent (3000 mi) changes give me piece of mind and an earlier chance to inspect drain plug magnets and the innards of my (permanent) filter. Overkill ? Probably ! I'm good with it, its only oil.

Absolutely! And permanent oil filters? Love 'em
Did you get your 3Guyz oil filter relocation done yet? That's another full win; I spent a bunch of time last week and over the weekend tweaking mine and replacing hoses.
Those images you seek of my front forks will be posted within a day or so now that I'm happy with my relocation plumbing
