Did you get your 3Guyz oil filter relocation done yet? That's another full win; I spent a bunch of time last week and over the weekend tweaking mine and replacing hoses.

Those images you seek of my front forks will be posted within a day or so now that I'm happy with my relocation plumbing
The 3G oil relocation kit is in hand but I won't be installing it till my next oil change, (in about 3000 mi ). ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, edited out ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I'm taking my jiffy stand off today. I'll take it to a machine shop up the road to get it drilled. Waaay too hard for my little 3/8 drill.

Sorry for the hijack .

Smooth! Very well done

I figured with me wanting to alter fluid level and spacer lengths it would be just as easy to pull off the wheel and remove the forks for an accurate fluid measurement; I should have it back together later this afternoon.

Once the forks and wheel is back on I'll lower the bike and put a 2x4 under the Jiffy and find out just how tough that critter is

Glad to hear you're using that method. I'm editing my post # 32 so no one will read it and follow what I did.

It occurred to me some time after I posted #32 that MY forks are different. They aren't stock. I had done another mod prior to this one and my pre-load is much less than stock. When you're dealing with significant pre-load it is better and safer to remove the forks before working on them.

Regardless of what OCI you adhere to, use a quality lubricant.

EDIT~Doesn't matter what year it is.

I edited my quote of your post; you're exactly right! My front forks are also setup up with much less pre-load and I could have done as you suggested quite easily, I modded my front forks early on and fork cap removal is a simple no drama job with my pre-load. You're correct, with the OEM setup the spring pre-load is going to cause a real surprise if the tubes are on the bike when you remove that fork cap

Still was a great idea, though; but only with aftermarket fork internals

Whenever the oil light comes on. That's what it's for, right?

i have been changing mine every year in May since it sits in my garage all winter without running. Figured its collecting water and dust and prob just a good idea. Im starting to rethink that though. ***** getting so expensive with the full synthetic its a good $40 oil change with a filter and thatch with me doing it. Im starting to think i should just change it depending on how many miles i put on it.
