Lame A$$ Service manual
Thanks for the input guys, should have held onto the $64.00 I wasted on the POS manual, that really doesn't tell you how to do anything. If anyone is considering wasting their $$ on that manual, DON'T, Save it for something else. It's about worthless! If anybody else has tips, please chime in!
Also the manual does not cover accessory modification that is not stock on the bike...sooo...read the instructions that come with the parts you get as well...
True it does not teach mechanical ability... perhaps you need a class....probably can go to a basic class so you can learn a few things at your local vo-tech center...
I am being sincere..

Ps, When is this freakin site gonna get fixed????????? Must need a manual!
A lot of the specs you're asking for are located in the Parts Manual. \\; The bolts you speak of, the ones holding the rear turn signals on, are 5/16-18 x 3-5/8" hex cap style fasteners. \\; Provided of course that you don't own a Wide Glide\\; if so, then it becomes a 5/16-18 x 1-3/4" hex cap. \\; Hope this helps.

Rounder and Mudpuddle, Don't be a Smurf! Gimmie a break. I guess your mentalities are, if HD prints it, they can do no wrong. Why make excuses for HD?? Aren't they capable of knowing how to write a manual??? After all, if you read the book yourself, at the front they claim they may need hep with the manual as they aren't sure themselves they know what their printing! Ahhhh, America in the dumbing down process at work. Hell, they can't tell you what size bolts are on their own bikes \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ ;and that's a service manual??? LOL \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; As you put it, guess I don't have any common sense, maybe not, after all I did fall into the over hype over price Harley crowd!

my point is why do you need to know the size bolt ???? you have the bike in front of you ...figure it out....
most all on this site that do their own work have raved about the info contained in the service manual...
they also will tell you not to buy the aftermarket one(clymer I think but am unsure)
If you need to know how to take off your wheels..do your services....tear down the motor...align the bike...torque specs... it's in there!!! So, how are those critical components to wrenching on your bike useless??? They aren't. go back and re-read what you are complaining about and put it into perspective.. you are asking the service manual to be the parts manual as well...not to mention to be a how to on adding aftermarket parts???? it is a service manual, not a parts book or modifications book.
www.easybracket.com for a video on installing their turn signal relocation kit....
It is what it is. If its not the same as another bolt, then its obviously different.
If youre having trouble getting it out, the answer was addressed with the first few posts.

the clip expands into place. \\; If you look into the connector \\;you will see the side that needs to be pressed in order for it to slide out. \\; Then you just push it back in when your done. \\;
