OK, wasted my $$ on the pathetic service manual. As with the owners manual, refers to tables or descriptions that don't exist. I want to relocate rear turn signals. Looks like there is a bolt up under the fender that obviously holds it to the fender rails. It doesn't state what size. Any ideas?? Does anyone have some kind of a procedure to remove these lights?? I' am also adding the harness to turn the turn signals into brake, running, &\\; signals. I going to buy the Bike Gear lay down license plate \\;and turn signal relocation \\;kit, I'm hoping the room inside the license plate kit is enough to house the new harness for the signals. Anyone have experience with any of the above?? \\; \\;
Dunno about the 08s, but on my 06 I had to unbolt the shocks and let the wheel drop so I could get the damn bolts out. \\; Others have just let the air out of the tire, but I don't have a compressor.
Noticing your sig, I did time on both CV-59 and CV-61 back in the 70s &\\; 80s. \\; I still have the occasional nightmare...
you got to take the tail light lense off and unplug both turn indicator harnesses, using a straightened out paper clip release the wires from the harness. \\; Then remove the bolt holding the housing on and remove from the bike. \\; You may need to lift the bike and lower the rear tire to gain better access. \\;
Use a 1/2" wrench to loosen the bolts. The easiest way I've found to get the bolts out after removing the turn signals is to use a cutoff wheel and cut them in half. I couldn't get mine out and didn't feel like removing the shocks. \\;
Gotta love this site, always getting tips. \\; Thanks Bama I am gonna have to try and figure out the paper clip thing, I need to replace my signal and was initialy going to clip and solder but will have to rethink this. \\;
Thanks for the input guys, should have held onto the $64.00 I wasted on the POS manual, that really doesn't tell you how to do anything. If anyone is considering wasting their $$ on that manual, DON'T, Save it for something else. It's about worthless! If anybody else has tips, please chime in!
which manual did you get... the maintenance manual??? \\; if so i think this is one of the best buys for a bike... \\; but i just relocated my signals, using hd kit, and did have to fight the bolts. \\; i was going to cut them off, but ended up just having my buddy lift up on both sides of the strut and push down with his knees on the wheel. \\; then i pressed hard to get the bolt past the wheel. \\;
 \\;
i didnt think of taking air out of the tire but that would make it much easier!!! \\; i would do this if i were you. \\; well good luck!

You can buy the car compressor that runs off the car's battery when you plug into the cigarette ligther. \\; I use this all of the time to fill up the air in tires for my car, cycles and bicycle. \\; Works great and their not expensive. \\;
Bama, \\; If I remember correctly the manual says "the tool" is required to put the wire back in gotta another tip? \\; I would check the manual but I don't have it with me now. \\;
