P J the other thing that is there are more than two types of big shots. The other type is big shot staggered, with I have on my bike. There is the big shot longshot and the big shot short shot.
I was going to get V&H Short Shots Staggered for my 06 WG, but they aren't available yet. I installed SEII slip-ons instead, and I love'em, sound great, not to loud cruising.
Heard that the short shots don't build power from a harley dyno tuner guy. Maybe they're to short to provide adequate backpressure, resulting in torque loss. I think the same might be true regarding Big Radius. I gotta have a style I like but I want em to build power for the money I'm spending. Hooker claims their Troublemakers, which look just like big radius, generate great hp and torque increases when bolting up to a stock TC88. Luckily people in the forum are starting to actually buy pipes for 06 dynas so we can learn
Yeah but do they have o2 sensor bungs in them? I don't think so but i wish hooker did make with them in the pipes. I really like the big shots but there to long, i want a short looking pipe thats why i'am looking at the shortshots. But, i do agree if i'am going to spend the money I DO WANT POWER!
I had the shortshots on my wideglide. I did not like the sound or performance. The shortshots were very ratty sounding when you let off the throttle. I changed to the Python dual staggered which have great sound and much better performance.
I got the Big Shot shorts on my 05 Super Glide. They look and sound great. No problems with performance either. I used to have the Screaming Eagle slip ons but didn't like the look, too long.
If you want a short pipe with performance, you should look into the Bassini's. They are available phor 06 Dyna's now, and do include the bungs phor the O2 sensors. They have a different set of curves in them they give you an overall pipe length that helps with the back pressure, yet the end position of them is nearly the same as the Short Shots.
The V&H Short Shots ARE a cool looking pipe, but really won't do much phor you in the way of power.
