Need some advice, as usual. Please.
 \\;
I have decided that (gasp) I am relatively happy with the stock performance of my new '08 FXDF.
 \\;
I was considering intake/sert/exhaust at 1,000 miles.
 \\;
Now I am considering just a SERT and a dyno tune.
 \\;
Does this make sense?
 \\;
My main concern at this point is that I am experiencing pinging....want that done away with asap.
 \\;
What will a SERT by ityself bring....a little more eveness to the powerband \\;perhaps?
 \\;
I am not looking for very much in performance please advise your thoughts thank you.
If you're happy with it why not leave it alone.You don't need to start messing with the fuel injection, which is what a SERT does unless your changing the intake and exhaust.
Yes I am using 91 + octane boost.
 \\;
Pinging shouldn't happen in a stock motor? Did I just post to an alternate universe messageboard or something? LOL.
Just get some Rush slip ons. \\; You won't hear the pinging. SERTS are a major pain in the \\;azz to get tuned perfectly... thus you'll be in the same position.
Sorry I missed the part about the pinging, still I would experiment with different types of gas first and maybe take it in under warranty if that doesn't help.
i have a SERT... LOVE IT!!!!! once i was shown how to use it tunes real easy and just a great tool! if you are just going to do exhaust and intake, then there are other options
I got the SERT/dyno tune before getting mufflers and A/C and it worked pretty well and cured my pinging. \\; Later I got the mufflers and A/C and another dyno tune.
