phor those of you, who like myself, change your own phluids, don't rely on the owner's manuaul giving you the right information.
This weekend I changed the oil in my bike, to keep it in sync with the other phluids being changed. Just had the recall done, and I wanted to change the oil to match the new phluids in the tranny. The owners manual incorrectly identifies the tranny drain plug as being the oil drain plug, and vice versa. The service manual correctly identifies both.
Needless to say that as I was draining my *oil* I was somewhat surprised by how bright and clear it was. I ended up dumping the tranny phluid that only had 50 miles on it. phortunately phor me, I did have a quart of tranny phluid at the house.
Forgive me if this has been mentioned before also, in my Owners manual (Might be an Aussie version, but it has 4 or 5 other languages and mentions US models ?) it has a picture of a Street Bob where the wide glide should be.
Been there and done this already! I was putting fresh tranny fluid in mine and drained the engine oil. Harley should at least pay for the oil that I had to drive 35 minutes for after the mistake!
Ya gotta laugh at my manual.'06Dyna Street Bob,Rt.
