Hey gang, the weather on the N. Carolina coast was magnificent on Saturday and we had a group of about 15 of us on a trip to Harker's Island. This was my first ride with my wife on my new Low Rider since I got back from Iraq and we were enjoying the ride...until my throttle locked up at 60 MPH, and the bike began to die every time I pulled in the clutch to downshift, and the bike refused to start. Needless to say I was disappointed in my 2006 FXDLI. While my friends continud on the ride I spent the next few hours getting the bike back to the dealer. Once there I explained my concerns and problem to the service manager. He took my bike right in and said he would check it out fully. I will insist that the 8 degree injectors are changed for the 25 degree ones while it is in. I am guessing that the throttle position sensor may be bad. Sounds wierd for a part like that to go bad after 275 miles. I would appreciate any insight into why this problem occured if anyone has any ideas. I hate to be wasting my two weeks leave looking at 80 degree weather and no bike in the garage. I hope this is fixed soon. The dealer is open tomorrow and I will be checking on the progress with my bike.
Renegade I hope they get the problem fixed quickly for you. I live in Greenville NC and yesterday we rode to Wilmington, Jacksonville and New Bern then back to Greenville. We had 28 bikes and a great ride, about 220 miles in all. I rode about 150 miles today. The weather has been awesome!
hey lawman i went to ecu for two semester. greenvile is awsome. i had the bes two semesters ever down there......which is probably why it was only two semesters[:@]
Just got off the phone witht the service writer at New Bern HD and he says that they have been working on it quite diiligently but cannot loate the problem yet. I will give them a little more time as they have been $very fair and helpful up to this point. I know I am not the only person with a bike around here. I will let you all know how it turns out.
