Nobody seems to get it yet what style they were going for with this years Bob. Think back a little. Did bobbed bikes have machined jugs or blacked out motors, no. It looks like something you threw together in your garage 40 years ago with a few modern touches which is what a Bob is all about. Everybody is spoiled on the today look. Personally I dont like the rear fender but wouldnt no matter what color the motor was.
well - it seems that "black is the new chrome" these days. the moco missed the mark big time with the new bob engine scheme and tail lamp.
what makes a bob cost $1K more than a FXD? it has some messed up rear end and a speedo on the tank?
why does a FXDL cost $2K more than the FXDC? it has a black motor and a tach? is that worth $2K?
the FXDC is the solid deal in the group, nothing else makes much sense.
Lets get one thing straight here. It aint gray, its silver. And every cloud has a silver lining. When Im riding, Im on cloud 9
It's silver. Get over it
The grey motors are ok with me.
I have the FXD with the polished aluminum stuff. I wish that was chrome because no matter how much I tend to it, it is starting to show its age.
But black vs grey, no big deal.

I have seen a white powder coat casing on a super glide at Horny Toad Harley in Waco,TX. So im pretty sure u can get it any way u want it aluminum,chrome,black,or any powder color u want.Mine is polished aluminum and it needs to be polished often but I dont mind. \\;
I've got the silver motor in my 02. Installed what chrome I could then when the bike went in for cam chain tensioners the chrome lids went on the heads and now its one sharp bike that still draws the oohs and aahs. The FXD in silver engine was a blank canvass and I personalized to my taste, the essence of Harley Davidson.
