Default Handlebar manufacturing

I'm considering making my own set of 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" integrated riser handlebars that can be internally wired.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; It seems fairly straight forward, but the thing that puzzles me is the integrated riser piece of the puzzle.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I'm thinking they will have to be solid round stock, bore out to ~2" from the end, then threaded.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Wiring hole will then have to be above the thread and of course at the bar ends.&nbsp\\; Am I way off base here?
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Has anyone ever done this before that can provide some tips or pointers?

You may want to consider that you will lose adjustibility when you weld the bars to the risers.&nbsp\\;

Drill and tap a 1 inch long peice of bar stock with the correct OD to just slide into your riser tube, then weld it, and drill your wiring hole just above it.
