Default winter project

I'd like to do something with my wheels this winter. I have the standard spokes on my Superglide. I'm kinda old school and still like chrome. I can't bring myself to black it all out. Some of you guys have *****. Plus my work has been kinda weird, so I have to stick to the labor mods.
I'm thinking of putting on black powedercoated spokes. Should I get an extra set and have them powdercoat, then replace them one at a time? Or should I pull it all apart, have mine coated and then try to true it back up.
Any thoughts?

Rick

well most powdercoates will charge around a buck a spoke... you have 40 per wheel so figure at least 80 there... then true and balance is about 100 a wheel.. you can pick up a spare set of spokes but that will just add on the costs... i think i have my stock spokes wrapped up somewhere in one of the moving boxes in my shop... i will try and track them down, i can black those out no problem... man instead of black do something diff... you can get powder in basicly ANY color and texture now... the bobber i am building now i am doing the spokes in bed liner like is used on the trucks... should be pretty cool and clean off with water! personally i would just pull your spokes and have them done... then again it is alot of time unlacing a wheel... i know i did it... from then on out...i have just cut them and replaced them all...

Thanks for the input. I guess I thought if I replaced one spoke at a time, it would be easy to keep it trued up. I'm sure it would take awhile to do.
The bike is black with tan/gold Harley Davidson on the tank.
I guess I'm color challanged.
