It costs to run a business. I think you did fairly well.

Psst! I don't give a damn about how much it costs to run a business, etc. That's their problem! when I go to buy something, I get a good deal or I walk......I'll be damned if I'm going to drop any extra money, so the poor old rich guy that owns the dealership can afford to pay his overhead, and live his life of luxury.[&:] (poor working class guys don't own H/D dealerships anymore...that went out with ironhead sportsters)

I bought my Superglide after a LONG time waiting for the right deal. 13K out the door with a 1K store credit. I knew it was a good deal, and I paid CASH in full, so it was all mine from day one!

You pay what you are willing to pay PERIOD......Personally, for me, I'd never pay over 13K for a motorcycle......That figure was 10K, but I made an exception to get my bike......I'll never buy another bike for that much again! Too many used ones now, and the market is saturated with H/D's.

I'm frankly amazed that some of you are actually cool with giving the dealer extra cash....maybe the government should talk to you guys about feeding all those poor illegal immigrants, and stay the hell out of my pocket! I give to charity, and I do volunteer work....but last time I checked the guy that own's the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle beauty salon wasn't in dire need to funds.

Ok, so YOUwouldn't spend over 13 k for a motorcycle...Good for you. That's your perogative.

I knowa lot of people who have spent double or triple that not only on a motorcycle but what they consider their passion...and have never regretted it. Then, I look at the people who will think nothing of spending 70,000 (or more) on a car or a fancy smancy truck, boat or you name the toy. Again, that's their perogative.

I know I don't like to waste my money, and weare very cautious aboutpurchases we have made. We educate ourselves and we are acutely aware of what comparable values are. Doesn't matter to me what the dealership paid one little tiny itty bittly little bit. What does matter is what similar product sells for ... That's called comparision shopping.

they gave me 5.99 percent financing to boot so i did allright i think bottom line is i got my harley, and two young girls last night at a stoplight invited me to a party, after admiring my ride, so i'm satisfied with my purchase

I bet any of you that have a buiseness are in the practice of offering your services for next to nothing. It never ceases to amaze me at how people can complain about how much they paid and how they got ripped off but when it comes time for them to get paid thats all out the window and they want top dollar. Stop thinking that the dealer is the BIG BAD BOOGEY man, there not your buddy, there a business and a business needs to make money.
