Default A Little Help

OK, I know that you probably get sick of posts like this...so this will be my last one like it. With this being my first Harley, I want to do my due diligence in making sure that I'm getting a good/square deal. So here it is...I'm going to look at two bikes this weekend.
1)2007 Street Bob with 800 miles on it. They're asking $13,200 OBO.
Extras: V&H Straight Shot Pipes, SE high flow air filter, stage one download, passenger pillion pad, chrome peg mounts and foot pegs, lay down license plate holder.
2)2006 Street Bob with 8,000 miles on it. Asking $12,800.
Extras: V&H Big Radius Pipes, replaced mini-apes w/ T-Bars, Chrome housing (grips, starter, etc.), Detach Windshield, Forward Controls, (Chrome Includes: Axle Covers, Pegs, Air Filter, Battery Cover, and Belt Guard).

Just looking for a little guidance from those that have been there before and no what to look for from hindsight experiences.

I personally wouldn't allow the extra goodies to be counted as far as negotiating a price on a used bike. You won't get that luxery on the other end if you were trading. But there are some nice extras on both bikes and the prices don't seem to far out of line.

for the diffreence in price I would go with the '07. It has a good balance of warranty, way less miles ,the pipes Stage 1 and A/c are worth close to 1100$. make sure there's no title issue and that it hasn't been in a major accident. Don't forget that for 1000 $ more you could get your very own '09!

The 07 is a no-brainer. Only 800 miles for an extra $400! You could offer $13k for the 07.

If they are both in good condition, go with the 07. I would offer less since it is OBO and see what he says. Before you lose any sleep over it, you may want to check out some dealers to see what they have for leftovers. Good luck and let us know what you decided. If you are still in distress over the decision, give it some more time.

This is probably another ignorant question....but in reply to "maddghost," do all new Harley's come standard w/ the 2 year warranty and are all fully transferable? This person thought that they only had a one year warranty but weren't for sure (on the 07).

He should have that info in his paperwork. I have a 7 year warranty on mine.

So it's safe to assume that the warranty could vary from bike to bike. Some might only have one year while others might have two? (Without them having bought the extended warranty). On that note, could I go to a dealership and ask for an extended warranty on a used bike that I didn't buy from them? ...and should I if I can?

I doubt they would sell you an extended warranty on a bike you didn't buy from them. But other than that, I am a believer in extending the Harley warranty, mine has already paid for itself. I am sure most on here will disagree, but that is just my opinion.
