Thanks to all in responding. I guess it is what it is...I look forward to riding the bike for a long time. While I am thinking about it and it is being shipped from the factory, are there any suggestions/recommendations concerning an decent insurance company that is motorcycle friendly?

I found the best rates for mine at Geico. Only 389/year and they have been very good at policy service, fortunately no claims history to judge them on yet.

I pay $240 a year with State Farm, no complaints with them so far.

State farm is good, and so far Allstate has been good. Check with whoever insures your car and house as you can usually get multipolicy discounts.

1st bike and you buy a harley
doesn't anyone start smaller?
good luck riding
take a safety course
dyna's are good bikes, you'll find that out soon enough

Can anyone tell what the differences are between the 08 and 09 moddels, are they selling for the same price, and if there was no difference in model would it not have been a idea to try and have done a deal on the 2008 model??? just some obvious questions,

Welcome and great choice!

For insurance, you gotta call around. It's different in every state. I'm with Farmers with no complaints.

Progressive is the best Insurance for motorcycles in Florida can't speak for elsewhere ... but was about 50% of Quotes got from Geico and Allstate
