I felt the same High and Low too. My buddy is one of the techs were I bought mine so I knew what to expect and what kind of B.S. they were going to play. However the feeling I get when riding is worth what I paid. Harleys are'nt cheap bikes but you get more back if you trade in towards another and they hold their value. I just really hated all the other B.S. costs associated with buying new. In the end I'm extremely happy with my purchase. "Screw it; Lets Ride!"

I found they love to add on to your cost at purchase time but at trade in time the bike is worth Kelly Blue Book wholesale period. The extra bucks spent for accessories won't be worth a dime of value to the dealer. Most dealers would prefer them not accessorized so the new buyer can start spending money on it. The best way to beat the system is get it the way you want it and ride the wheels off it for as long as it'll keep going. You need more disposable income than I have to trade bikes or cars every two or three years.
