your valves need to seat and you motor needs to break in... if not you will get random leaks in time

Picked the bike up today, had her filled with Sin Oil, the service came to $245-00 including oil which seems to be ave from what I have read here for the 1 k service. spoke to the wrench and he says what I did was good, should have no problems what so ever, just want to say thanks for all who contributed,

the valves are completely seated before the motor is ever assembled. the MoCo runs every single engine for 15 minutes all through the RPM range and through all throttle settings. they really beat them down. by the time they are put into the bike they are pretty much completely broken in. in for reference, breaking in a motor, especially any modern motor, pretty much concerns one thing...sealing the rings. and even that is on the microscopic level. hence the reason for varying engine load and vacuum (it puts more pressure on the rings so they will seal better). there is no bearing "breaking in" and no other friction surfaces in the motor that need to be broken in.

there is going to be minimal change in the motor, regardless of how you ride it. it certainly won't cause "random leaks" to appear later in it's life.

I have always stuck with the "break it in like you intend to ride it" policy, that way you do not stress the motor by babying it at first then blasting it. As long as you do the initial oil changes to get rid of any debris that may have come loose inside the motor you should not have any problems.

Man, you guys come up with the wildest stuff....
"Random leaks"
"Downhill letting compression pull it"
MOCO's procedure is the mildest.
+1 w/ "break it in like you intend to ride it".
