I just picked up an 08 Bob barely a month ago and I want to get that sticker off the top of the A/C cover and Goo-Gone the residue. When I'm putting it back on, does it need to be torqued to a certain ft/lb or just good and tight? I don't have a service manual...
Mine came off clean without removing the cover. Just got a corner started and pulled it off. Didn't even have to remove any "goo" - just windexed the chrome.
Me too...... I left the cleaner on the bike and to used a thin blade for the parts that didnt come off plus a bit of alcohol. Man it looks so much better. I also took the sticker off my engine guards. Has Anyone take the sticker off the front right side of the frame just below the VIN number plate???

Yeah I was wondering about that too...I'd like to get rid of as many manufacturer decals as I can.
If you remove the sticker and there is "goo" left over just use the back of the sticker "Sticky side" and press it onto the residue again to remove the leftover. This worked well for me and usually can work for any stickers.
I know they sell chrome covers that go over that part of the bike, but wasn't sure if removing it
would void any warranty on the frame itself. Accessory parts like the air cleaners or engine guards are one thing, but ??? the frame. I just hate those darn things as much as I hate the stickers car dealers slap on your bumbers.

Yep I did - also came right off with no bad goo. Some even remove the VIN sticker but I didn't. Just to cover it all, I removed the a/c sticker, the idiot sticker on the downtube, and all 4 reflectors. The reflectors take a little more work but the stickers came right off.
I removed all the stickers on the downtube. Almost any glue can be removed safely using vegetable or olive oil. Sometimes it has to sit awhile but allways worked for me.
