I love the new Dyna Fat Bob but I'm a little guy..5' 6 1/2. I want the forward controls but would like them 1 to 2 inches closer. This would make all the difference in buying the bike.
Is there a way to bring the forward controls just a bit 'back'? I met someone with a Fat Bob and he said there was a 'plate' you could buy to lessen the 'reach'. My Harley dealer could not find it in the parts catalogue..( after-market perhaps?)

thanks for any help...would make all the difference....love the bike...want to get it!!

Why do you want forward controls? for looks?Plenty of folks on this board are happy with mids have you tried a Dyna with the standard mid controls? Also I'm not a big fan of forwards on a Dyna but I sat on a Nightster with forwards and liked it allot you might want to try some different bikes. There's also the "reach" seat which will move you closer to the controls but that opens a whole new can of worms.
If you find out, let me know. I have been looking for the same thing but haven't had much luck other than different (wider) footpegs with heel rests, and a reach seat.

+1 - I just bought an '02 WG and I've been searching for a way to move my controls back just an inch or so. The left side is OK, but the reach for the brack pedal, having to go around the air cleaner, is quite a stretch.
The guy who owned it before me replaced the stock pegs with small boards. That already brings your foot back quite a bit - plus, you can adjust the boards fore & aft, so I moved mine all the way back. I also replaced the small brake pedal with a wider one.
Everything feels pretty good now except the brake pedal needs to come a little closer to me.
Two things I'm considering:
- having a machine shop make me a custom brake pedal lever (almost definite)
- Figuring out how to move the air cleaner or go to a low profile design that will tuck it into the bike more.
