Wow what a questiom...always liked harleys but the SB was the only one to ever have caught my eye enough to buy one...which it wouldn't have if it had looked like the '09 bike...now i would probably go for the Nightrain...but then i was leaning towards a Yamaha V~Max.
This thread raises the question, how many of you guys walked into the stealer and looked at the Night Train, then the price tag and then the Street bob?
Nightrain was on my shortlist.....price was indeed a factor in the decision - that and the crappy handling of the softails pushed me to the Dyna line.....then it was between the Fatbob and Streetbob. I went with the SB basically because I'd have to change too much on the FB before I'd be willing to be seen in public on it.
yeah you have a point, I do wish mine had the all black motor, specialy since it is supposed to be a dark custom... Maybe I will get lucky and harley will sell some black sideplates for it at a resonable cost, hahaha, well sell some anyway.... But I like the tail light and the bobed fender
reasonable price???? yea right, and i bet that was the idea the moco had from the get go...."we'll sell it grey and they'll have to spend money to make it black ha ha ha"
I went back and forth for a few weeks between a RKC,a Heritage softail classic and the Streetbob...all roads led me back to the bob..over and over. So I got the Streetbob (06) and now we're married and living happily ever after. amen.
No, no you don't have to love it and I don't.
Bikes like that just don't appeal to me. Now the Street Glide doesn't look as bad as say a Road Glide but to me a motorcycle just isn't supposed to have a big fairing on the front with huge hard bags.
Just my opinion of course.
Judging from all the 'votes' for the SG,I would say you are in the minority with your opinion, but, like everyone else, you are entitled to one..I have to agree with you on the Road Glide..the faring is a bit much....:>)

I may be in the minority but my opinion is always the right one... for me anyways.
