Hmm so let me see ( put the brain back in my head for a minute)
5 gallaons at full
2.5 gallons at half
1.25 gallons at quarter tank
0.625 gallon at 1/8th tank (150 miles low light comes on)
So then... I use 4.375 gallons to get 150 miles that equals 34.29 miles per gallon
And if I have 0.625 gallons left I should be able to go another 21.4 miles till bone dry
(I used a calculator) So about 170 to 175 is the limit at around town driving(30-60 mph)
And I bet I can get the 200miles out of the constant high-way speeds...
I have just been filling it up when the light comes on at 150, just to make sure. I didn't want to chance running it dry...
Ok I can take the brain back out and play with it now...... duhhhhhhhhh

Why do you think you only have 1/8th of a tank left when the light comes on? (I probably just missed something.) I have an 08 FB with some engine work (103 stage I and a cam). Most of my riding is a combo; mostly around town, with some hwy each tank. It appears that I have about 1 gal left with the low light (manual says 0.9 gal at low fuel light). I ride fairly hard and my numbers are better now (after 3K miles); but at the end of the day; I get anywhere from 35 to 38 mpg, I know if I ride with some sense after I see the light I can get another 30+ miles. So, although we are similar; I see 180 to 190 range with combo town and HWY.

Does everyone's low fuel light come on pretty much the same mileage? Mine seems to come on a different points. For instance, if I shut down after going about 120 or 130 miles (no low fuel light on yet) and then later start it up to go the low fuel light will come on and stay on. If I'm at 120 miles and keep riding the fuel light will not come on. I have never had it come on while actively riding yet. The longest I've gone is 150 miles and I stopped and fueled up because I was on the back roads and wantedot be sure I did not run out.

Yep again that is why I say do not trust the light.
Mine hasn't actually came on while actively riding either. It will come on after I get off the highway or whatever.
Mine sometimes will come on after I start the bike with the gas low. I'll ride it to work then shut it off. Later when I come out to start it and go home the light won't come on.

My range depends on the speeds I ride, if I go over 100 on the way to work, I'll run out at about 200 on the tank, if I ride like a sane person about 215

Talking fuel mileage

Mines the same at about 200 for the tank. We need to start a new thread on where you put the gas cap again. I LMAO the last time.

Nah the gas cap was already done. How about which eye do you look at your gas guage with while riding...
