I would suggest bending them before the remap too. and it really does make a very big difference, bought to pull them out all together and remove any packing and then reinstall them. I too am getting a stage 1 filter and a remap soon.
I rode the bike home from work last night, half an hour ride.
tried to bend them down with a metal rod about 3/4 dia rod.
hit it with a hammer a little but did not even move any. I just don't
know about hitting too hard with them on the bike.
pipes not hot enough? or just not hitting hard enough?
I may make up a bar that has a taper on the end to get started better
where that spoon shape is up top.
ride a bit longer... you shoudl not have to cream the flap to get it down... be gentle... if you dong think you can be pull the slip off the bike and then you can get some leverage behind it

+1 on the ride longer get those babys smokin hot, and it will take a few good whacks make sure the bar is at the top of the spoon shape tab.
Did this to mine and still don't quite think the sound is all that. Ordered some Big City Thunder Baffles today to see how that goes. Been hearing good things about them on this site.

I have been thinking of trying them myself, I hear they are even louder and throaty then bending the tab. But I have to pull my old baffles out to measure them according to BCT and I cant get the darn things to budge
