No [more] new buyers should ever have to endure the grotesque, unremarkable, uncool finish that is Denim Black. Just let us poor fools who have already purchased Denim Bobs carry that cross on your behalf. Pick another color.
Alright, alright...if you go with Denim Black, at least stay out of the 90230 area code, will ya? :-)
Whiff
I hear what you are saying. It's the "family all dresses the same" problem. I almost bought a regular black 'Bob when it looked like a denim was either ungettable or marked up to the sky. Then a dude starts looking it over and said "I have the exact same bike" (mods and all). Dinna like that too much. But a new set of bikes were shipped and I got the denim.
I also had a Sporty...21 years ago! Just started riding again and the Bob grabbed me...like a lot of others...and i couldn't be happier with it. Although the Denim is pretty cool, i got the vivid and just think it sets the bike off nicely..i think i'd get tired of the flat black look. As far as trying to be different..there are so many Bobs on the road that no matter what you do, there will be someone with a bob like yours somewhere. Brothers of the Bob,unite!
I sold my 883 when I saw the BOB. I broke my rule of buying the first of a kind. I am happy with the look of the St Bob but harley has some small bugs to work out. Passenger comfort is one.(A BIG ONE.) thats if you add the two up package.
If I were you I would wait until the 07's are out and see what is left over in 06 BOBS or new for 07 , Maybe st BOB improvements will be out in 07.
