I'm thinking of getting the black V&H Shortshots Staggered pipes for my '09 Street Bob. My question is if I am doing pipes only and running the stock A/C, will I be able to get away with not have the ECU remapped or adding a fuel tuner?
Is that true, if you just add the pipes (V&H Shortshots) you do not have to get a fuelpak or change the efi settings as long has you still run the "stock" air kit ? I was told by everyone that I had no choice but to add a new a/c and some type of fuel management system or the engine wouldn't run right. If this is true, can I also do this for a 2007 SB, run just the pipes, no A/C, no fuel pak ? Thanks in advance and sorry for the stupid questions, just want to make sure.

You would be fine, its like adding slip ons you dont need any ECM for slip ons once you change over to a big air cleaner is when you alter and you need to change the fuel/air ratios .
I did things a little backward.Found a techlusion (version 3 with the buttons)for $175
on Ebay, put it on a stock 07 FXD and can not get over how much better the bike runs
Cooler, Smoother, better acceleration .-Can hardly wait to add the pipes and A/C ,but if anyone has to modify there scoot a piece at a time. I suggest putting a great running bike ahead of a great sounding bike.
