I know this has allready been covered but, I`m relocating my front signals to the forks.
Do I need to remove the tank all the way or can I just lift it up about 2 inches to pull the wire, also should i pull a line behind the wire to make it better to put back.
Thanks
Jeff
For me, it did make getting my hands up in the frame to pull the necessary connectors out a little easier but I did not remove the tank. Merely loosened and slid it back. If you don't have a tank lift installed, you'd probably want to at least slide it back to gain acceptable access to the harness.
Like this? I like 'em down there. Unclutters the controls a bit and when I do a handlebar switch, it's a set of wires I don't have to worry about. If there was room to move them to the top tree I would have but there wasn't so I didn't.

Here are my installation directions for the JP Cycles relocation kit. I prefer the cleaner handlebar look, it aint a "Jap look", the stock Harley directionals look like an after-thought.
take out the tank bolts and slide it back.
before you move it back, wedge something between the tank and the frame to keep it from dropping, otherwise the fuel crossover may scratch the rocker cover.
a pull wire won't help you - it's just a push-pull operation that will scrape up your knuckles a bit.
On my buddies 08 fxdc all you had to do was remove them from the bars, (the wires were not bundled with the other wires coming from the grips, like my 08 bob) and bolt them to the trees. And tuck the wires behind the headlight and we were done. It took an hour at most.

Nicely done, too bad that doesn't work for me, my WG does not have side pinch bolts, they are in the back.
Anyways I like the web site instructions you created.
I just moved mine on my Low Rider a few weeks ago - took me all of about 15 minutes. Didn't have to remove the tank, didn't have to cut any wires. Just removed the cable holders from the bars to bring the signal down to the fork then reinstalled them to hold the other wires in their original place.
