My 2007 low rider came with mids and highway pegs .
I luved the feel of the highway peg position .
I had forwards on my sporty and liked them .
So I bought the kury forwards for my low rider this spring and installed them .
I do like the feal but its not the same length as the highway pegs were .
My legs are bent so that theres not a lot of weight on my feet .
Not bad on slower rides but on the highway around 55 mph or more my feet feel very light as if there not straight enough to deflect the wind ?
I was thinking of a 2 " extention but also a new classic Mustang seat .
Just want to change one thing at a time .
It gets very pricey .
I may go back to the highway pegs and mid controls yet ???
I,m 6' tall with a 33" inseam ...
I have mids, was thinking about forwards so i put on a set of highway pegs to see if i liked the riding position. They didn,t suit me to be honest, and i know where your coming from, was thinking of trying a set of mini boards in the mid position. I have seen them for sale that are adjustable up to a point, but i,m not sure if they work very well and the ground clearance could be worse. Not sure if anyone on the forum has tried them they could be a solution.
The previous owner of my bike replaced the pegs with boards. I initially thought I would take them off and go back to pegs. After riding with the boards for a while, I've decided I like them much better than pegs (more options on what I can do with my feet).
I have always liked to have mid controls with a set of highway pegs up front for cruisin, and a set of passenger pegs behind for the occassions i want a change of position with my legs during long rides. Rear pegs are also GREAT for cruisin when its wet or raining out, kinda hides your shins a little etc.

I would love to have floor boards on mine but everything that I have seen is gonna cost me a mint to get them put on.
I like the mids with highway pegs on my FXD. I like having the 2 options on long rides and I also like that I can shift and brake from both sets of pegs. I actually ride most of the time on the highway pegs shifting with my heel but on a long ride I will use the mids as well.
I have learned to shift with my heel as well. I feel more comfortable on the mids when I am going through really windy curves.
