I have seen the motorcycle lift at Harbor Freight for about $300. I have seen the motorcycle jack also at various places namely Sears for around $90.
So can I get the same stuff done on my FatBob with the Jack or do I need to spend the extra $$$ and get the lift.
What do you guys think?
Thanks
I have a J&S jack, GREAT jack, but, in all honesty, a lift would be nice, BUT, then you have to stand up and lean into the bike, it's almost a toss up, depends on space you have, or, if you don't mind sitting on a small stool with rollers under it that catch on any little thing under them. A lift, you can spread tools all around the thing, both sides, the jack, spread them all over the floor, or if it has a built in tray, put them in that. Why not save your money, get both if space allows. They do make a lift that folds up and can be leaned against the wall.
I've just bought and received delivery of an Americana 2 motorcycle lift that I bought off eBay for Ł88. Says it will lift up to 680 kgs and has a min clearance of 4 3/4 ", which is a 1/4" more than HD's own lift. I haven't had the chance to use it yet so I'll let you know how it goes over the weekend. If you have a Dyna you'll need HD's lift adapters which are another Ł20 / $20.
I want it to clean the wheels & spokes so I don't have to keep re-positioning the bike to get the job done!
i have the HF lift. got it for 299.00 less coupon for 15% off. best money i ever spent. sold my jack to my brother in law for 30 bucks. never looked back.
i have both... use the sears jack more than anything... the full lift is nice for buiding a bike but when you are doing basic work and maintance the jack is the way to go... besides i usually have someone elses bike on my lift
