I think chrome looks awesome against the flat black. However, I'm trying dilligently to maintain a balance between the two. I've pretty much decided not to replace anything that is already black with chrome. Instead, I want to focus on replacing much of the galvanized hardware with chrome or possibly brushed stainless steel. What I don't want to get into is a bunch of covers for bolts and such. I'd rather detail the fastener itself than cover it up. I'm thinking about replacing the timer and derby covers with some black wrinkle finished pieces. I also want to get the horn off the side of the motor. The chrome horn cover is too distracting. Might relocate the horn elsewhere. I want naked jugs! Can't wait to get rid of the big chrome football too.
I installed the small detachable on my Bob. I thought it might take away from the look, but even the dealer was surprised at how it looked.
Windshield for long hwy rides and no windshield for driving around town. Up in Vancouver we can ride for a great portion of the year, but it rains a lot in the fall and early spring so the windshield helps.
i like chrome but trying not to over chrome it i like a good mix. as far as the windhield... long rinde at hight speeds say down the garden state parkway would be nice to have . i dove my bob for four hour down to wildwood nj for bike week w/ a half helmate and that wind and road debree sure did beat me up. i'm going to get a detachable windshield for rides like that but it would be off 99% of the time.
