Joe,
I'm interested in seeing how this turns out for ya. I considered something similar a while back and checked into having them "black chromed" but the chrome co. said that the black chrome scratched way too easily for this. I'm thinking about going wrinkle black with my rockers for now (this winter). Seems like an easy enough mod. Thinking about just doing the tops as it's fairly easy but want to see some pics of "the other side" since they are angled.
I really hate the way the front fender on my 07 bob sits so high off the tire and doesn't follow the arc of the wheel.
Has anyone fitted anything that looks better? pics and details please!
just do a fender relocation... to the parts bin in your garage!!!
your a Biker...get wet and sloppy in the rain and such...
NOte: mine has been relocated since the pix. below!

i agree they could have dropped it down about 2 to 2 and half inches. i have the same problem with my 05 dyna.but have started looking around for a low profile fender.
I would be careful about hanging a front fender too close to the tire. One of my buds hit a chipmunk at about 30mph and squashed and it stuck on the tire and wedged between the tire & custom fender and locked his front tire for a split second causing him to go down. I was right behind him and almost ran into him as well. This is way off topic but I have to tell it.
The worst part is that he broke his collar bone and did about $1800 damage to his bike and about $500,000 in damage to his ego because where we live there are a million chipmunks running all over the place and he kept saying "The next one of those little f#@kers that runs in front of me is getting mashed...I'll show those little bastards". ( note: This guy is about 6'2" maybe 220 and in great physical shape)
So when he hit this "kamakazee chipmunk" we were all laughing so hard at him laying there swearing his *** off. One of my other friends says "Yeah, you really showed him" When the cops & paramedics arrived we were all still laughing and they started laughing when they saw the chipmunk wedged in between the tire & fender.
Lucky for me I duck taped a chipmunk to my tire as a spacer when I was laying out the new holes.
Now that's funny! BTW, i don't have access to a chipmunk so would it be ok to use a squirrel or will that create too much of a gap and look silly?
I too would like to change the front fender and get one that covers more of the tire (wider) and maybe provides 120 - 130 degrees of coverage around the tire. Probably one of my winter projects.
I smacked a squirl this year 2 up with the girl on back... sent me into a pretty good wobble but was able to keep it up... amazed that little sucker almost won... man they let out a squeek that woudl blow you mind! hell so would i if i got crushed...
